Fun in September!

We had some fantastic Nature Walks. The Butterfly Garden is almost finished- I think they are just adding some finishing touches. They planted new plants so now we just wait for the butterflies! We also had so much fun playing with cars- in paint and in shaving cream :) We learned about "A, B, and C' The final days of September are all about the letter "D" and Dinosaurs!

The Letter C for Cars!

Today we were very busy playing with cars and then later on painting with cars! We dipped the cars in paint and slid them down the slide. After we all had had enough of the paint- we washed the cars and rinsed them clean!

Welcome Back to School!

We have started our new 2015-2016 school year! The kids have been busy learning about school, friends, the letter A, and Apples!

This week it is "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs"

First it rained giant pancakes with syrup and butter, then came rainbow spaghetti!!!!

Summer Program! "How I Became Pirate"

This summer we are bringing to life our favorite books! The first book we chose was How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long. The kids were very busy hiding treasure and marking it with an "X," creating treasure maps, making pirate swords and hats, dressing up, sailing the ship and walking the plank, finding gems in water and sand, and making exploding treasure! We even had a Pirate Party!

Handwriting Without Tears

We use the program "Handwriting Without Tears." We begin each lesson with songs, reviewing the letter sound, building the letter with the large wood shapes, and then write the letter. We work on a letter each week. This week we are learning all about the letter "E." Handwriting Without Tears also teaches the kids how to write the Uppercase letter and the Lowercase letter.
