Earth Day Activities

Earth Day is April 22nd.  To help celebrate our planet and increase awareness about "being green" students in both classrooms have been participating in activities focused on the three R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).

T
Students have participated in open discussions about what it means to "be green" and what types of things can be recycled.

We made painted our planet, Earth and danced ourselves silly to "It's a small world after-all!"

Check out the activities going on at Balboa Park at http://www.earthdayweb.org/EarthFair.html

The Earth Day activities continued this week in the 2-3 year classroom. The kids got to make little green houses of their own to watch seeds germinate and grow.

February Activities!

This month we will be focusing on the letters K, L, and M. The kids will focus on friendship, kindness, sharing, and taking turns. We will also have a week of Valentine's Day fun!

January ended with the letter "J" for January, Jelly, and Jam. The kids made their very own purple jelly for "toast" by combining 2 secret ingredients. We also made jelly fish to hang in the classroom- be sure to look up!

Home

For "H" week we talked about our homes. The kids brought in photos of their families, and talked about everyone in their family.  We created our own little houses and even painted some big houses! We will be focusing on family, friendship, and taking care of others for the next couple weeks as we enter the holiday season.
